Øresundsbron,
the bridge between Denmark and Sweden is now open. The 1st of July 2000,
HRH Queen Margrethe of Denmark and HRH King Carl Gustaf XVI of Sweden opened
the permanent link between Copenhagen and Malmö. This permanent link is
linking the Scandinavian peninsula to the European Continent.
The bridge/tunnel represent in itself a major leap into this millennium,
providing stronger and more extensive co-operation regarding economy,
education, research and culture in the region as well as at international
level.
